About Me
Growing up on a farm in Zimbabwe, has helped shaped the mature and strong woman I am today. My sister and I grew up surrounded by nature and we spent most of our time outdoors in the sunshine. I always feel my most relaxed while I am outdoors taking photographs or scrapbooking. On the farm we also had lots of animals like donkeys and horses, but my first true love was my border collie dog, Lindy. This is where my fervent love for dogs comes from. I also enjoy cooking and I love to experiment with new tastes and ingredients whenever I can.
I am always excited to have the privilege to work with children as I believe my calling is in service. I think my vast experience with the non-profit organisation, Sunshine Spaces, proves this. Working closely with the underprivileged children around my farm to break the poverty cycle and allowing them to follow their dreams, gives me immense pleasure. I seek to challenge myself to further grow and learn new things working as a child carer.
Those who know me describe me as bubbly, passionate and full of energy. I come from a culture of hard workers and pride myself in my work ethic and going above and beyond what is required of me. I am calm under pressure and I am always coming up with new ways to ensure the children are enjoying themselves with exciting activities and adventures, inside and outside. My toughest challenge has been working with the children through the Covid-19 lockdown. This has taken me out of my comfort zone and has tested my creativity, patience and, most importantly, the safety of the children. I believe I have come out of this experience as a better child carer and a more rounded person.
My ethos is to create an environment in which children are free to express themselves within the boundary of morals while creating a memorable educational environment where children feel safe, and above all, happy.
