Hello, my name is Nurah. I have always enjoyed working with children and am currently working towards becoming a maternity nanny. I am truly fascinated by child development and how babies and children progress in different areas of growth.
My Experience
I have experience looking after family members and babysat a co-worker's 8-month-old baby during my final year of university. These roles have given me a better understanding of the unique needs and routines of babies and children. I also volunteered at Kings Priory School during my time at sixth form where I was responsible for supervising and supporting children during break/lunch. To expand my knowledge, I am taking free online courses on OpenLearn, such as 'Supporting Children's Development' and 'Understanding Children: Babies Being Heard'.
My Qualifications
I graduated with a 2:1 in Biomedical Science last summer. Initially, I planned to become a Physician Associate, but I realised I wanted a role more focused on working with babies and children in a more personal and nurturing environment. This led me to change direction and gain work experience to pursue a career as a maternity nanny.
My Availability
I am currently working as a barista so only have availability before school/in the morning.
