About Me
Hi, I'm Alex! I'm a 31 year old who’s just moved back to Rugby and am looking for a new opportunity as a child minder. Ive been working in corporate sales roles for the past 8 years (alongside my freelance pottery practice) but was recently made redundant and moved back to Rugby to be closer to home and re evaluate.
People often describe me (yes, I had to ask for feedback for this profile (: ) as an incredibly warm, friendly, reliable and caring person who would go out of her way for anyone. I'm empathetic, passionate about creativity and nature and love spending time with loved ones to create lasting memories. I'm laid back, love to laugh, dance, read, run, cook, illustrate and travel.
I studied Fine Art at university (some years ago now) and have since built my pottery business but have also previously worked in the healthcare space (predominantly within the Menopause/Fertility/Women's Health/Perinatal/Men's Health support space consulting for large commercial businesses).
I love spending time outdoors, whether that be hopping in the car at the weekend and exploring Wales' beautiful waterfalls and rural landscapes, walking in Cornwall or camping in the back of the car surrounded by the stillness of nature. Nothing beats wrapping up warm and immersing yourself in the outside world.
If I'm not in the studio, I'm often in the kitchen cooking up a storm for my partner or hosting dinner parties for friends as I love to explore different cuisines and enjoy tasty food. I don't smoke or drink and try to lead a healthy, holistic, positive wellbeing-led lifestyle.
My fondest memories of being a child are collecting beautiful leaves with my mother down the railway bank and using old vegetables from the fridge to paint and create prints from (I grew up in a single parent household where my mum always encouraged my brother and I to be as free, intuitive and expressive as we wanted which I'm hugely grateful for - she's a fantastic Mum!)
Just thought I'd mention too that my schedule is fully flexible. I'm more than happy to cook, clean and support with general house chores and errands if you need.

My Experience
No current childcare qualifications but I have 2 beautiful Nephews who are 5 and 8 and have been very close to them whilst they've grown up, just raw organic human experience I guess. We have a fantastic bond and I thoroughly enjoy looking after them and taking them to places as and when I can. We play, laugh, create, bake, read and learn and I like to think I'm their favourite Aunty (:
I'm often surrounded by children as I'm at an age where my friends are all having babies and I love spending time with them; watching them grow and become more inquisitive and aware is so beautiful. I'm not currently in a position to have children of my own but would love to in the future.
