My Summary
About Me
* I'm only booking evenings and night work at the moment. I'm fully booked for daytime. Thank you for your interest! *
I am a professional with years of work experience. I absolutely adore children, and I'm especially fond of working with kids with special needs.
I've worked with children with varying levels of needs from ADHD and autism to demanding behavioural challenges, medical needs and a variety of other things. I place a lot of value on kindness, emotional skills and communication skills, and I am a strong believer in abundant positive feedback and encouragement. I'm flexible and enjoy a child centred approach with healthy limits and firm but gentle guidance. I enjoy working as a team with parents, but am also confident and happy to work independently.
I am experienced in planning all sorts of educational and fun activities, but I also enjoy living in the moment and following the child's interests and encouraging play based learning - it's all about a good balance! Perhaps a mix of keeping them entertained with whatever's the world's coolest thing right now, be it dinosaurs, sensory play, comic books or jumping around in mud puddles, and helping out with homework. Whatever combination of things that works best for your family's individual needs.
While I'm very happy to work with a variety of special needs, I'm of course also happy to work with children without! Don't let my profile leaning towards that stop you from messaging. Unfortunately I don't drive, but I'm happy to commute to many parts of South Manchester.
Currently I'm very booked, but would be interested in late evening or night work, of which I have extensive experience with multiple families.
Please don't hesitate to message if you think I'd be a good fit and let me know if you have any questions!

Henna has been looking after our son for about 18 months on an ad hoc basis. He has complex needs, is autistic and has ADHD. Whatever kind of day he has had or mood she finds him in, Henna is able to find a way to engage with him. She is very calm and gentle in her manner but is also able to set clear boundaries and stick to household rules. Henna is always interested to learn about our son’s interests and what motivates him. Together they enjoy a variery of activities as well as quiet time. I have found Henna to be very reliable and she is honest and open. Henna can think for herself and does not panic if things do not go to plan. At the same time, she readily asks for help or advice when she knows she needs it. Henna is easy to have in the home and has been an absolute asset to our family life. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Henna saved us when our regular babysitter got covid. My oldest has autism and struggles to connect with new people but seemed to settle well with Henna. I felt safe leaving my four children with her and the kids said they had fun. I wouldn't hesitate to have her back!
