About Me
My name is Elaine McDade. I am a registered childminder providing excellent quality care for children in a friendly, stimulating and safe home environment.
My main aim is to encourage and enable children to develop quickly in their early years and do all that I can to ensure that they have the best possible start in life.
I am based in Blantyre, where I live with my husband and our two teenage children.. We also have two lovely small dogs, Rocky and Poppy.

You may wonder why I wanted to be a childminder. I’ve always enjoyed working with children through my Dance School over the past 25 years, and have always enjoyed a great connection with my students, alongside a passion for seeing children grow and develop new skills.
I love arts and crafts, and base a lot of my planning around the children making something to either take home each week or to try something new. I also love the outdoors and love to explore with the children.
Having been a working mother myself, I understand the importance of making sure your child is in a safe, loving and welcoming environment - that’s why I will make sure all parties involved feel comfortable. I feel communication from myself and the parents plays a huge part in a child’s happiness, and I will communicate with parents using log books, diaries and photos of our activities.

My Experience
As well as being a full-time mum, I have years of experience working with children. As a dance teacher, I ran my own business and dance studio for 25 years.
I have a full Certificate in Childminding Practice. I am registered with the Care Inspectorate, and I’m a member of SCMA – the Scottish Childminding Association. I have a full disclosure check and full public liability insurance cover. I have a full, clean UK driving licence and my car fully insured for transporting children with a range of car seats to suit all ages.
I have a BA hons degree in Dance Art in the Community, as well as a teaching diploma in Dance with the BATD, of which I’ve been a fellow member for 25 years.
I attend regular training courses.

My Availability
I have space for three pre school children full days 7am to 5.30pm or possibly later. Monday to Friday.
I have space for two Breakfast (early morning 7-9am) after school kids from 3pm - 6pm (minimum 3 hours) Monday to Friday.
I am prepared to work extra hours if I can.
