i have 14 years experience of working in childcare I launched Sweet Briar childminding in 2020.
My approach is very much child focused, and my goal is for your child to feel loved and relaxed for my home and family to be as if it were their own. We love to get out in nature, to attend a wide range of groups and also have plenty of time dedicated to independent play. I believe that for a child to flourish they need to feel secure and safe, and to be given opportunities to explore and play at their own pace. This creates a foundation of curiosity and confidence which will serve them throughout their lives.
I live with my husband, our 4 year old son and friendly spaniel in an open plan house with a designated play space and a big garden, that backs onto the beautiful Linear Park, perfectly situated within easy reach of the motorway for parents that commute, and walking distance of Calcot primary school.
I use online/app diaries to keep you up to date with your child's day, to share photos and to track their development. I accept tax free childcare and 2&3 year old funding.
My Experience
I blend the 12 years of experience I have from working within schools, and day nurseries with my experience as a mum to create a nurturing environment that will give your child the best of both worlds.
I also have extensive experience working with children with special educational needs, specifically Autism.

Cache Level 3 for the Children and young peoples workforce.

I am still able to offer a limited amount of short term childcare to suit a range of requirements:
-One off childcare for events or appointments
-Emergency childcare where your current childcare is unable to open.
I currently only provide a babysitting service for existing customers.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.50 per hour
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
Full time care is £7.50 per hour 8 - 5pm

Alice looked after my two children for around 3 years, initially all day then afterschool care. She was simply fantastic with them. She provides excellent activities, food and I found her gentle and caring style worked very well well for my two children.
She is organised, transparent and clear with billing and admin. She was really helpful when we needed some short notice flexibility too.
She and her family felt like part of our family. My two children love her dearly and were very sad when we left the area but I am sure we will all stay in touch.
