About Me
I am 28 and have worked in the Early Years industry for 10 years now, and have a huge passion for this sector. I achieved my level 3 & level 5 qualifications within this time frame. I am a very driven, hardworking and committed person with a fantastic work ethic and great key skills. Since gaining my Early Years Level 5 Senior practitioner qualification, I have gathered a great knowledge on leadership/ management and coaching skills. Not only this but also gaining experience with the Pre-School age group and implementing challenges and risks through their interests.
My passion lies with Early Years ensuring the children are ‘life ready’ by the time they spread their wings for their next adventure. Independence and a child’s personal, social and emotion development is something I look at very closely on a day to day basis, building their self regulation skills and emotional resilience. Especially using the outdoors, nature and natural environment.

My director at Abbotswood went to Thailand for 4 and half months. She has a little boy who is two years old. I was given the opportunity to go to Thailand and become their Nanny. Our days were filled with lots of exciting adventures, exploring and helping with learning to swim and become confident in the water. I would also help assist with bedtime, meal times and ensuring there was learning opportunities throughout the day.

At Abbotswood, I completed my Level 3 practitioner qualification. Shortly after completing my Level 3, I proceeded to further my knowledge and gain my Level 5. I progressed consistently as I worked my way to become a room leader and in the end, promoted to Pre-School manager. The director and I worked extremely close together, by designing and planning our brand new Pre-School lodge, which can have up to 50 children per day. At Abbotswood, not only was I in charge of the Pre-School, but also the well-being champion for the whole staff and a qualified mental health first aider. Along with this, I also hold my designated safeguarding lead. I ensure the children are provided with challenges, safety and most importantly care. Our intent it to make sure the children’s interests are being followed, whilst following the nurseries curriculum, outdoor ethos and hygge approach. Where Abbotswood are classed as an ‘Outdoor Nursery’ it is all about using nature and the environment around them. I have faced many incredible challenges and opportunities at Abbotswood, which has led me to where I am now.
