My Summary
About Me
* Christmas Holidays 2024 Help *
Hi there!
My name is Antonia. I am a friendly, professional and experienced nanny living in Southwark looking to help out with childcare in a warm, fun, family environment where I can use my character and experience to be a real asset.
I have several years of experience in looking after children, from the age of 9 months up to 15 years in both babysitting and nannying roles (see below for details), I love being around little ones and being involved in a family's day to day life, and I'm pet-friendly.
I have just completed my bachelors degree in History at King's College London university and am now looking to work for some time in my local area (especially over the Christmas school holidays) while I figure out my next career steps. I know that with my experience in (and enjoyment of) looking after children I am really well-placed to help out a nice family juggling the busy schedule of kids and work.
Character & Background:
I come from my own happy, funny family consisting of my two brothers - one 3 years older than me and one 3 years younger, both of whom I get along with very well and enjoy hanging out with, and my Dad who I have a really good relationship with, all of whom (I am sure) would recommend me for having around the house!
Personality-wise, I am lively, happy and adaptable. I enjoy working hard and see childcare as a super important role that requires care and attention as well as confidence, all of which are parts of my character.
I've always been involved in lots of activities outside of my studies such as playing sport, getting out and about in general on walks, going to the beach or into town and I like to mix these into the routine for the children to ensure they have variety. When the weather isn't great (often!) I enjoy getting creative with cooking and crafts, playing games and reading or going to museums/art galleries.
In terms of practical role, I intend to be both a very willing helping hand with occupying the children - keeping them healthy, busy, learning and having fun - and with doing bits and pieces around the house (including, but not limited to laundry, cooking, cleaning, shopping) as well as of course a generally positive addition to your family unit. I’m also happy to help with school work and extra tutoring help as needed.
Thank you for considering my application. Feel free to message me for further info or with questions and I hope to hear from you soon!
My Experience
I have lots of experience in looking after children, primarily having worked as a nanny already for a a really lovely family in London, who I also met through Childcare.co.uk and for whom I still do the occasional bit of babysitting as we got on so well. Their family consisted of Mum, Dad and two little girls who were 9 months old and 4 years old when I joined them. I absolutely loved working for this beautiful family and had such fun helping their kids have fun and grow into great little people.
The family would be happy to provide a reference for me if you would like, and I can provide further character references if desired.
In addition to this, I have also nannied abroad in Quebec, Canada in 2019. I lived in with a fab family of four (Mum, Dad & daughters - 6 and 1.5 years) where I babysat while the parents were at work. I prepared lunch and snacks, as well as starting dinner for when Mum and Dad got home, and occupied mainly the 6-year old girl with biking to the park, playdates, swimming, baking, drawing and making dens etc, as well as managing to fit some English lessons in there too (they were a French speaking family) and helping keep the house in order.
Beyond these experiences, I have also spent time as a French teaching assistant in a primary school, coached hockey and tennis at summer camps and babysat for years for friends and family with children of less than a year old up to teenagers so I am very comfortable with kids and their needs.
