My Summary

My Experience

I have been working as a supply teacher for the past few years and have experience teaching children from Reception to Year 6. I currently work long-term in a school teaching mixed-age classes and work in both Key Stage One and Two. I have a small amount of experience working in a nursery setting.

During the summers of 2019, 2022 and 2023, I worked at a residential summer camp in New Hampshire, USA for 2 months supervising children between the ages of 7 and 16. In 2019, this involved 24x7 care of a group of 11 year olds for the first half of the programme and then eight year olds for the second. In 2022, I had seven year olds and 10 year olds. Last summer, I looked after the 11 and 12 year old campers. This also involved working with other age groups throughout the day.

During the day, I worked as a lifeguard and was responsible for overseeing the safety of the campers during swimming and boating activities on the lake (2019)
I returned for summer 2022, working as a general counselor. My role involved being responsible for the youngest children on camp (aged 7-10) and ensuring their safety and well-being during the fun days at camp. This ranged from making sure they had everything they needed for each activity period, were staying hydrated and applying suncream, and providing plenty of support to build their confidence and encourage them to try new things. I was also a solo counselor for a group of 7 and 8 year olds who I lived in a cabin with for the duration of camp. Many of the children were nervous when they first arrived at camp as they had never been away from their families but by the end of the session didn’t want to leave! I found it so rewarding getting to spend so much time with the campers and seeing them grow so much over their time at camp.
In summer 2023, I had a mixed role working as a general counselor, lifeguard and high ropes instructor which I loved as it gave me a lot of variety and I got to work with the campers in lots of different environments.

I have also been an au pair. In 2021, I moved to Spain to live with a family and take care of their two girls (aged 9 and 6). My main role was to pick up the children from after-school activities, prepare their dinner, complete homework, play, and start the bedtime routine. I also helped to improve their English through play and structured activities and taught English lessons to teenagers and adults at the local English school.

BA in Primary Education at Sheffield Hallam University.

My Availability

I am currently available on Mondays (all day), weekends, and anytime during school holidays.
