My Summary

My Experience

I have been working in SEN schools around Bristol for the past year, working with kids of all ages and needs. Before that I was a carer for a 19 year old boy with cerebal paulsy. I would look after him on long shifts, making sure he is healthy, happy and cared for. I have also babysat a lot all around the world, looking after kids from ages 1-16 on regular occasions. Back in England I would regularly baby sit two kids for about 2 years, aged 5 and 8, and would take them to and from school, cook for them, play and do work around the house. I have cared for challenging children and used different methods which were really effective in helping the children learn discipline and key learning attributes. I love children and find it so rewarding helping to nurture them throughout their lives.
I have experience working with special needs children, I ran some classes in Sri Lanka for children who have autism and down syndrome. We would play, colour, sing, dance and learn together. It was incredibly rewarding! I have also been a part of a program that provides education to children who were asked to leave school in order to help them become employed. This was challenging but I feel really helped me develop communication skills, boundaries and teaching skills.
