My Requirements

Hello!

We are looking for an energetic and kind babysitter for our 5 year old son, 2 mornings per week during the summer plus occasional babysitting. He is a very curious and intelligent little boy. He loves maths and reading: he can add up numbers within 100 and knows a multiplication table for 2. He is kind and empathetic with a passion for animals and dinosaurs. We are looking for someone to play with him 2 mornings per week during the summer school holudays: either in our home or by taking him to a local park. He initiates play himself, so it’s never boring with him.

He is autistic - what used to be called Asperger’s, but let it not put you off. Mozart, Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Alan Turing, Sir Antony Hopkins, Chris Packham, to name just a few, were/are also autistic. Asperger’s means that our son doesn’t have an intellectual disability or speech delays. He is perfectly bilingual and his vocabulary in both languages is above his age. He goes to a mainstream school. He has some mild sensory issues and some strong preferences. He is a very happy child in general and has a great sense of humour. He doesn’t play with children of his own age, preferring a company of adults and older children. Hence our search for someone else, other than us, to play with him.

He also likes books, puzzles, playdough, cycling, running around the playground, museums, imaginative play, messy and water play, and building things from Lego.
