About Me
Hi, I’m Emma. I am a qualified and experienced primary teacher, available for face-to-face tutoring with children of any age who are working within EYFS, KS1 and lower KS2 levels.
I find working as a tutor hugely rewarding, in that I am able to fully dedicate myself to enabling an individual child to enjoy and succeed in their learning. I provide a highly personalised teaching approach for each child, striving to ensure that my practice fully meets their individual needs and draws on their strengths. My patient and nurturing personality allows me to build positive relationships with children before quickly identifying their key gaps in learning and how I can support them to reach their highest potential. I strongly believe in fostering a love of learning and work hard to plan enjoyable sessions that are as fun as possible, utilising a wide range of resources from my teaching career. My teaching style is highly visual and kinaesthetic, to ensure children are fully engaged and able to retain taught knowledge and skills.
My Experience
I have over 15 years of wide ranging experience in primary education, both in mainstream settings and those that cater specifically for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This includes previous roles as a mainstream Year 1/2 Class Teacher and teaching in an inclusive Speech and Language Resource Base. I am also experienced in providing 1:1 tuition, catering effectively for personal learning needs to address gaps in learning caused by national school closures.
My Qualifications
PGCE Primary Education with QTS (Schools Direct) - University of Worcester
BA (Hons) English Literature: 2:1 - University of Derby
My Availability
I am available to tutor in Worcester and other nearby areas, Monday-Friday from 4:30.
My first meeting with you and your child is free of charge. This is to give you and your child a chance to meet me - and also chat about what you are looking for and my teaching style. After this you can decide if I am a good fit for your family as a tutor going forward.
