My Experience
I have previously volunteered at Girl Guides with a younger group, Rainbows. I used to help arrange and support craft activities, plan out some meetings and help out with general cleaning. I would encourage the girls to join in on arrival and to always feel comfortable in the setting. But, unfortunately I had to give this up due to my full time work commitment.
I have also worked in a nursery setting for 2 years, where I completed my NVQ level 3, I worked with all ages ranging between 10 months to 5 years. I had the responsibility of having my own small group of key children, helping with planning, working with a close group of staff and parents, interacting with the children and general cleaning around the nursery.
I am now a teaching assistant at an infant school, learning as I go!
