About Me

***PROVIDING EXCEPTIONAL ADHOC EVENING, NIGHT, WEEKEND & EVENT CHILDCARE SERVICES***

I am an experienced nanny, a qualified teacher, and a loving mother of three with a beautiful grandson whom I frequently care for. Currently, I have one child still at home, accompanied by our three adorable cats.

With over 25 years of expertise in childcare and education, I am well-versed in caring for newborns, nursery-aged children, and even primary school-aged kids. I have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Montessori method, and I am proficient in supporting children with special educational needs (SEND). Additionally, I have worked as a teaching assistant in secondary schools, providing assistance to GCSE MFL students. My experience as an INA has equipped me with valuable skills in behaviour management, inclusion, and additional supportive therapies. Being bilingual in Spanish, I can also assist children with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

I hold a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance from my volunteer mentoring and tutoring position within a B&H community support organisation, as well as my current employers, Teaching Personnel, Sussex Teachers and Cumnor House Sussex.

My true passion lies in working with children, and I particularly enjoy the spontaneous nature of caring for young ones and witnessing their academic and personal growth. As an empathetic and supportive caregiver, I strongly believe in child-led, self-managed play and learning. I have even incorporated forest school learning and development into my repertoire and would incorporate it into my work with children.

Outside of my childcare profession, I have a variety of hobbies, including cooking, Latin dance, and listening to music; I practise mindfulness and meditation for grounding and self-awareness. I also have a green thumb and love tending to plants and gardening. Additionally, I take pride in my excellent home organisation skills and genuinely enjoy clearing and tidying up.

Please take the time to read the following information before deciding on the specific service you require.

What Is a Nanny?

Employed on a part- or full-time basis, nannies are child care professionals—usually with educational backgrounds and/or training. Nannies meet many of a child's needs, caring for children physically, socially, and emotionally. Some nannies help with homework while others complete cleaning-related tasks, like laundry or tidying a child's room, and nannies can live in or out of the home.

What Is a Babysitter?

While nannies are employed on a regular (or semi-regular) basis, babysitters tend to be as-needed caregivers. This means they are hired to watch children after school or while parents enjoy an evening out. Their duties also differ, i.e. a babysitter's primary focus is watching your child—and keeping them safe. It may well just be listening to the monitor while they sleep.

I am pleased to inform you that I also provide tutoring services in all primary-level subjects, including Spanish. As a bilingual tutor, I offer a flexible range of services where we can have sessions lasting from half an hour to an hour, and these can be followed by nannying or babysitting, depending on your needs.

Please be aware that my tutoring services are priced at £25 per hour, and we can arrange a detailed consultation to assess the student's level and needs prior to the session at no additional cost.
