Mary

About Me

We are Mary and Paul, both 41 years old. We have 4 children - Frank (10), Florence (8), William (6) and Max (2). All of the children are currently home educated.

I am a lawyer. I work 2-3 days a week, sometimes from home, sometimes out of the house. Paul is a self employed architect and part-time lecturer at John Moores. He works from home most of the time.

Frank is a happy and active child. He learns by doing and moving. He likes climbing, learning new things, experimenting, rough play, and computer games. He loves reading. He is very intelligent and independent. He can occasionally struggle with some big emotions and likes to test boundaries with new people but is incredibly loving. Frank was flexi-schooled prior to coronavirus but is now home educated full time.

Florence is very creative with a wonderful imagination and she likes to play with her toys and her brothers. She loves painting and crafts, and writing stories and comics. She is currently home educated and has been for the past 2 years. She likes to learn things for herself and soaks up information like a sponge. She loves having people around to share her ideas and games with.

William is affectionate and kind. He loves playing with his brothers and sister, making up games with his toys, computer games and dancing to music. He loves board games and card games, reading and maths. He loves being set challenges and trying to keep up with his older siblings.

Max is happy and curious. He is a very active 2 year old who is into everything and an expert climber. He generally wants to play with whatever his brothers and sisters are playing with. He loves dinosaurs, Hey Duggee, music and dancing, building with blocks or duplo, and learning new words.

They all love playing together, helping in the kitchen, trampolining, and playing with our little dog, Coco.

We have large house and garden, with lots of play and educational resources which the children access as they wish.

I love spending time with my 4 fantastic children, and finding exciting ways to play with them and make them feel loved and happy. I try my best to always be a kind, supportive and loving parent and try not to shout. I like to lead by example and model the behaviour I expect from them. Whenever possible we use gentle parenting and restorative practice techniques.
