My Summary

My Experience

As I mentioned before I have experience working in schools, as a Teaching Assistant in France and Barcelona and also as a Nursery Practitioner in a nursery in Manchester with kids of different ages, from 6 months old to 16 years old.

I enjoy working with children. From 2011 until 2018 I used to volunteer with children of different ages every Saturday afternoon, teaching values through activities like games, dances, paintings or talks followed by a discussion.

In 2019 I moved to the UK to work as an Au Pair, where I worked with a family of four, looking after two girls aged six and nine. Every day I had to prepare their breakfast, snacks and occasionally their dinner. Because the girls had to go to school and evening classes I had to be time-efficient when preparing their food so they would not be late. Also, every day I worked one-to-one with the girls to help them with their homework and I also did art workshops with them.

As a Nursery Practitioner, working with children of a young age has made me more organised and alert, paying attention to everything I do and maintaining composure if things go wrong. My role required me to balance several duties at once, such as overseeing hygiene checks, applying health and safety measures and preparing educational activities, so I had to remain calm under pressure to successfully multitask.

In my previous jobs, I have always been quick thinking to deal with different types of problems. From my experience working with children, one of the most common issues I have had to deal with is disruptive behaviour. When this happens, I always remain calm and listen carefully before agreeing on a solution with the child. I always try to explore the perspectives of the children and the family when dealing with each child’s problem.

My Availability

I live in Windsor and I am working some mornings and afternoons in my current job. I am available evenings and nights including weekends. I finish work at 4:30 so I would be available after that time.
