Welcome to Little Bears Childminding! My name is Clair, I am 47 years old and I live with my two sons, Josh, who is 23, and Luca, who is 6. We have one pet cat called Lilly-Lou who is 18 1/2 years old. I am originally from the Lane Head/Short Heath areas in Willenhall, then moved to live in Harvest Grove in Bloxwich for the last 8 1/2 years and recently moved to Bridgtown in Cannock at the end of March 2024. I have a secure enclosed garden and our playroom is the lounge. We do creative and messy activities in the kitchen or outside. I do school runs to St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, Bloxwich, for my own son n as I have kept him at the same school that he was at before we moved, so I will be available to do drop offs and pick ups there if you are from Bloxwich and wished you little one to attend within school hours. I don’t do school pick ups in Cannock.
My Experience
My background is in primary school teaching. I worked at a school in Willenhall for 14 1/4 years teaching children between the ages of 3-11 years old. My favourite stage to teach has definitely been EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), I just absolutely loved working with the little ones and found it extremely rewarding.
After having our second son, I decided that I really wanted to do something that I love and that would fit in around my family. I was inspired by my experience in EYFS to consider a career in childcare. I finally made the exciting decision in June 2019 to retrain and I started the process to become a childminder. I completed my level 3 Home Based Childcare qualification in September 2019 and I also complete safeguarding and paediatric first aid training in a regular basis. In addition, I also have a BEd in Primary School Teaching. From September 2020 I worked part time as a teacher and also started childminding part time whilst I worked my notice at the primary school where I worked. I started to childmind full time in January 2021. I provide professional care for children from 3 months to 11 years of age, in a home from home setting, which is safe and secure. In this supportive, nurturing environment your child will be able to learn through play and will follow the EYFS curriculum to help them develop, learn and achieve.
I have experience of using ‘Mybabysdays’ in my setting, an internet-based system, which parents can access online. Parents can login to the system securely to access and view their child’s progress, photo & video galleries and policies etc and in addition leave notes within specific areas for me to respond to.
Everything I do on ‘Mybabysdays’ system happens in real time, so I will be able to notify you about nappy changes, times of bottle feeds, naps and any accidents as they happen each day. Parents are also informed immediately once areas of their child’s data have been updated.
My Qualifications
I completed my level 3 Home Based Childcare qualification in September 2019 and regularly complete safeguarding and paediatric first aid training. In addition, I also have a BEd in Primary School Teaching.
My Availability
I have full and part time spaces available for babies and children from the age of 3 months to 11 years.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
Hourly Rate: £5.00
Additional Rates
Hourly rate outside of contracted hours
The hourly rate outside of the contracted hours, that do not fall within the unsocial hours is £5.00 per hour.
Unsocial hours are between 5:30pm and 7:30am. The hourly cost during unsocial hours is £20.00 per hour.
Reservation Deposit
A reservation deposit of £50.00 will be taken to retain a future space.
Retainer Fee
50% of fees will be charged during a retainer period, for example during school holidays, or maternity leave.
Advance Payments
All payments are due one month in advance before the childcare has been provided.
Childcare Vouchers/Funding
Childcare vouchers and funding are accepted.
Invoices
Invoices will be created on a monthly basis through ‘Babysdays’ and payment of invoices are due by the 28th of the month in advance of childcare.

This lady deserves a medal 🏅 she's brilliant at her job been brilliant with both my children one that is non verbal helped us with cdc anyone that needs contact with our son she's amazing at her job she's the best around very friendly reliable and trusted with our boys

absolutely fantastic would highly recommend anyone to place their children with her. My 2 boys loved going and always came out with big happy smiles.

Our experience with Clair has been excellent. She is always excellent with her communication, focus on development for the children, and her example to the children on how to treat each other is exactly what we love! We were so happy we have gone back for our next child.

My two children started with Clair in January 2021 and to say they have come on leaps and bounds would be an understatement.
My daughter finished with Clair in September 2022, my little boy still attends. Both of my children have loved attending the setting ever since they started. Clair has been nothing but amazing with them both.
I would recommend Clair as a childminder to anyone!

My girls been going to Clair’s since she’s been one, I was apprehensive of going back to work but I was put at ease from her first day.
We have noticed how much she has developed since going, the activities Clair does with her has really excelled her skills and made her grow so much.
I know what’s going on during the day with the Babydays App. I know when and how long her naps are, what’s she’s eaten, nappy changes and photographs.
My girl loves Clair and her family, I can see she feels like she’s at home and comfortable.
Clair is everything you want and need in a childminder including her setting environment.
