About Me

Hello, we are a family of 4 living on a beautiful remote island called St Martin's. Island life is a wonderful experience but not for everyone. We love it and embrace all the ups & downs it throws at us. We own and run the only pub on the island, always have quite a few projects in the pipeline, and are looking for the right person to join us to help look after our fabulous 7yr old and 4yr old girls. The island is home to 120 residents and quite a few seasonal workers, so always a friendly face to be found on a walk or in the island shop.

We are seeking a nanny/housekeeper, chef/competent cook, handy-person, and front of house friendly faces for our family run island pub on St Martin’s, amongst the beautiful Isles of Scilly.

Ideally, we would like to employ a couple, or 2 friends, to fill 2 of the roles, but please apply if single, we would always much rather employ the right person for the role.

The Nanny/housekeeper will help with our two fab girls (7yrs & 4yr old), playing at the house, garden, pub, beach, open heathland, taking to nursery via the inter-island boat and helping me keep on top of the house! Holiday cottage changeover cleaning work too.

Chef/competent cook to assist our head chef in the busy pub kitchen, serving a selection of island grown, locally sourced produce at lunch and dinner. An experienced, efficient, creative team player who is willing to learn will be given opportunities to develop and thrive.

Handy-person with a driving license to assist with collecting deliveries from the island quay, maintain outside areas (hedges, paths, etc), get beer barrels in, ensure waste is properly sorted, set up furniture for events, generally be up for getting stuck in!

Front of House team member to ensure every customer receives the best from the pub and the team serving. With a keen eye for detail, someone who takes pride in their work, greeting customers with a smile and has a dollop of common sense would be wonderful.

You will have the opportunity to live on the beautiful island of St Martin’s (I am slightly biased!) with its glorious sandy beaches in every direction. We are the only pub on the island, open from Easter until Halloween. There is always lots of other lovely seasonal workers to make friends with and enjoy days off exploring the islands together.
Need to be available to start early March and stay until the end of October.
