About Me
My name is sara Burns. I am married with 4 children have been childminding for 28 years in springfield.
Our house is full of fun and family values. We enjoy lots of different activities such as cooking and crafts as much as we can,glitter is a must. I like to be out and about to clubs and toddler groups hylands park,discovery centre,trips out to marsh farm and our local care home,with your permission, (This we hope will return one day as it was great fir both generations ) which enriches both generations colouring,play dough lots of sensory play. We go out on litter picking trips with the toddlers and babies to show how important our environment is and to be part of the community .
I’m a member of the national trust so we can visit the forests .
I have a family feel setting where the Children become part of the family and feel at home. So as they get older this includes being on a rota to the lay or clear the table .
Manners and family values are a big part of my setting.
I also follow the early years learning goals and document their progression on tapestry which is a secure on line journal which you can look at and comment on any time of the day but I always have time to talk to you at the end of every day and I am on the end of a telephone or texts.
I also provide Before and after school care I can provide breakfast and a dinner which I home cook fresh as I am a coeliac and like to know what in the ingredients
.
We try to have activities after school such as games night,crafts night and a Nintendo switch and sometimes we make our own pizzas together.
My Experience
I have 29 years of experience with children,including four of my own, but there is always some thing new to learn from children. I have worked at a nursery and local school. I have organised a play area at weddings and I love face painting so don't be surprised if you drop your son and daughter off and get a lion or butterfly back.
My self and 2 of my children are coeliacs so understand diet requirements,including dairy intolerances.
I have experience in following the Gina Ford contented baby.
I have experience with children on the autistic spectrum
I am very flexible and understanding to the difficulties of working parents and will help as much as I can
I use Tapestry journals on line to record children’s everyday activities and early learning goals and parents can access anytime and record the children s experiences at home and comment on our observations.
We make vists to toddler groups ,library and our local care home Lyons court care home every week which enriches the children’s learning and also the elderly at the home,who’s faces light up when they see the children( suspended until we are allowed back ) .
I have worked throughout this difficult time with COVID-19 and understand how important it is to keep the children safe but making sure they feel happy and secure.

I would highly recommend Sara, she is very patient and thoughtful with our two girls. They have settled in so well and are always excited to go to Sara’s especially our eldest who constantly asks us “is it Monday yet? Do you know what we are going to make at Sara’s on Monday?”
Sara is brilliant with the children and it was important for us that our girls were in a family setting not too dissimilar to our own, a daycare center or nursery was out of the question. Sara is a perfect fit for our family and I feel happy in the knowledge that when I drop my girls off they are in a lovely, safe, home environment filled with fun and family values. they are part of the household and fit into the dynamic, they are content and happy and each day they come home excited to share stories about their day with us.

Thankyou so much it has been a joy looking after the girls and I will miss them both very much x
Sara's childcare is a truely amazing thing. She has been looking after my 3 children throughout the last 8 years. Each child is treated as a little individual with their own gifts to share.
Sara has build an environment which encourages play and fun and engages your children in so many activities. Letters are learnt, cakes are baked and songs sung.
It is hard for a mum to leave her kids with someone else but with Sara I have always known that I can go to work happy in the knowledge that they will be safe, happy and having a great time! I can not recommend Sara enough.
