About Me
I am an experienced primary teacher based in Glasgow. I can support your child with all aspects of literacy and numeracy to improve their skills and confidence. I have been teaching for 5 years and have 2 years experience in mainstream schools and 2 years in an ASN school for learners with autism & other additional needs. I have also recently worked overseas in Berlin teaching year 1 learners in a Bilingual International Primary School, so I have a wealth of knowledge on teaching learners with 2+ languages. Over the last 5 years, I have taught all aspects of the curriculum on a daily basis. I am confident in teaching all areas of learning and raising attainment for all learners. I excel in the subjects of literacy, numeracy and health and well-being.
I am enthusiastic and passionate about teaching children & young people which is why I interpret many beneficial teaching approaches into my practice. This makes my lessons engaging for my pupils and positively impacts their progression and development.
Also, I strive to meet the needs of all learners by continuously differentiating work to suit their abilities and level. I have a passion for teaching and take great pride in supporting and teaching young people.
I also have a full UK driving license so I am able to commute to & from your home for tutoring sessions.
My Experience
I completed 4 years at university and qualified as a primary teacher. I have 7 years experience in education (2 in ASN setting and 5 in mainstream public & private schools) in a range of stages from P1-P7. In particular, I have developed a wealth of knowledge and experience within the younger/middle years of primary education (primary 1-4). I have good knowledge of the Scottish curriculum for excellence which allows myself to cater to the needs of learners and their abilities. I would describe myself as a nurturing educator who provides a safe and purposeful learning environment for children which encourages them to thrive within their learning journeys.
