About Me

Hello,

I relocated back to the U.K. in November 2020, having spent over 20 years in South Korea and Spain.
I raised my 2 children overseas.
They are now aged 23 & 27, and back living with me!
(The shipyard welder and the secondary history teacher ?)
We are a family originally from North Shields.
I also had a little street dog I rescued from South Korea with us until she sadly passed in November 2022.

Since arriving back in the U.K. I have worked as a Support worker for a 54 year old gentleman with severe autism, non verbal, deaf, Pica and other challenging behaviours.
And then part time at a Nursery as a lunchtime support assistant, for 1 & 2 year olds; I was also required to additional hours within the toddler and baby rooms when needed.
I then worked in retail part time for Holland & Barrett.
I am now caring for my very elderly, frail Mum.

During my life overseas;
in Korea; I provided childcare and support to other expat families, some of whom had difficulty adjusting to the sometimes challenging environment.
I also fulfilled the role of classroom assistant within the International School system; Primary and Nursery grades.
This included one to one tuition of children with English as second language and special educational needs.
This was all on a voluntary basis as our family visa restrictions prevented me from seeking paid work.

In Spain; I again provided occasional childcare/ nannying as a service offered by the Holiday Lettings company I worked for.
I was also listed as a nanny on the books of a Marbella Babysitting agency.
In my spare time I volunteered at Age Care Costa, and was involved with the non Spanish homeless in my area, offering food and care.

Prior to relocating overseas (due to my husbands job) I worked in the NHS for 10 years in the Finance Dept, handling the monies of long stay geriatric and psychiatric patients.

I had an enhanced DBS as required by my recent U.K. employers, I am also on the DBS update service.
