Hi I’m Laura. I have 7 years of childcare experience (with qualifications), as well as an undergraduate and master’s degrees in Psychology.
I am interested in child development and I am a fully qualified Nanny and Maternity nurse (with newborn experience, from birth). My other qualifications include childrens’ nutrition, and baby massage. I am currently finishing my qualifications in perinatal care and sleep consulting after a probation year as a gentle sleep practitioner.
I offer both maternity nursing and nannying and have the next opening from September 2024. I also offer sleep consulting - please get in touch for details!
Maternity nursing (my rate for maternity nursing is £20/h):
As a maternity nurse, I will work with you and your baby from birth to typically the age of around 6 weeks - but I am happy to stay on for longer if necessary.
I will support you in settling in to your new life with a newborn, providing guidance on best practices, feeding, sleep, establishing routines and providing care for the mother and the baby to make your first weeks run as smoothly as possible. I also offer overnight care.
Nannying (my nannying rate is £16/h)
As a nanny, I will be a trusted adult in your child/ren’s lives, providing a safe environment to learn and grow. I am experienced in coming up with fun, educational activities, preparing healthy meals, modelling various social behaviours (such as good manners, kindness) in an age-appropriate way. I can also take children to acitivities, such as clubs or lessons, either by public transport or if provided a car for on-duty use.
I am kind, enthusiastic and fun. I am experienced in developmental milestones and behaviours, such as developmental leaps (or ”sleep regressions” if you want to use that term) and tantrums.
My approach is gentle but firm and consistent - I will enforce age-appropriate boundaries in a way that you are comfortable with, in an age-appropriate manner (we will discuss your parenting style and requests for your family’s needs in our first calls!).
I have worked with various parents with different parenting styles and I am flexible and adaptable with these.
