Hello,
My name is Adamatu, and I am a biomedical science graduate and current data science student. I am the oldest child of four children (two boys and two girls), all of which I have watched and proactively been involved in helping my mother raise from birth to their current ages. Being surrounded by babies and children constantly has made me develop a soft spot children and I thoroughly love and enjoy babysitting them. So much so that I have dedicated myself to study a university course where my degree could land me on a path to study paediatrics in a medical setting.
As a rather proactive individual, I enjoy looking for ways to keep busy when I’m not doing my studies. I part-take in independent learning and managed to learn the whole alphabet as well as a few basic terms in British Sign Language. I strive to continue expanding my vocabulary, because I believe inclusivity is essential. I enjoy doing leisurely activities and keeping fit, before the pandemic I was actually part of my university’s athletic sprinting team, very useful in enhancing my reaction times, and ability to move quickly!
My Experience
I’m trained in first aid for paediatrics (shown in documents) and have carried out many roles and responsibilities at infant stages including; changing nappies, feeding and burping, carrying out bath and nap/bed times and more. I’ve led trips to the park and engaged in many other recreational activities with small groups of children. Understand that all children require different needs, whether that be social, physical, emotional, etc to which I am more than capable of meeting and even possibly enhancing. I have completed my education to degree level, therefore I will be able to accompany and assist children with homework, should they need it.
My experience in providing child care within my immediate family has landed me privileges in babysitting family friends’ and others’ children who have different ranges of needs and abilities (incl. autism).
