My Experience

I have thirty years teaching experience in state primary and private schools, teaching a full range of subjects including special needs experience. I have specialised in Mathematics and English booster teaching for KS2 SAT's and taught mathematics and English full time across the primary age range.

I'm an experienced and successful private tutor for Common Entrance exams and catch up work. This includes: mathematics, English, verbal and non verbal reasoning. I'm familiar with 11+ entrance exams for all local private or V.A schools.

I've taken a break from teaching in schools as I want more flexibility and autonomy in my work.

My lessons are individually tapered to the needs of your child and I give regular detailed feedback to parents on their child's progress. I like to involve the parent's as much as they wish to be involved.

I do set homework- unless parent's prefer their child not to be given it. Homework is usually reinforcement of the lesson. The amount of homework depends on the age and capability of the child and the purpose of the tuition.
Common entrance preparation tends to require quite a lot of homework so be prepared for hard work!

I am a calm, friendly and gentle person and have brought up two children of my own who are now successful professionals.

Post graduate certificate in Education, [ i.e. Teaching qualification], BSc. Honours degree. A levels

My Availability

Available in the Harrow, Watford or Hillingdon area after Easter holidays.

• Babysitting from £9.50 per hour
• Tutoring from £35.00 per hour
