About Me
Hi there! I’m Grace, I’m from Hertfordshire, I am 23 years old and newly married to a detective constable in the Met. I have just completed my PGCE (teacher training qualification) at Oxford University, however I am looking for my first full-time nanny role as I believe the more personal and nurturing character of nannying is more suited to me! While completing my undergraduate and master’s degrees at Durham University, I tutored (both primary and secondary), regularly babysat for children aged 1-14, and nannied part-time for a family I still work with occasionally when they travel. At Oxford, I provided wraparound care, evening babysitting, and weekend nannying for two different families, a baby aged 11 months and siblings aged 9 & 11.
Alongside this, I also have experience as a travel and overnight nanny, au pairing both in Spain and London (girls aged 10 & 12, and siblings aged 5, 3, & 3), working with siblings and twins, and in other childcare settings such as nurseries, schools, after-school clubs, and youth groups.
I am warm, gentle, bubbly, and greatly value learning through play. I’m excited to find the perfect fit for me and begin getting to know new children!
My Experience
I have nannied, babysat, and tutored regularly for a variety of families while at school and university, with the children's ages ranging from 1-14. This past year in Oxford, I provided wraparound care for siblings aged 9 and 11, and worked as an evening and weekend nanny for a 1 year old. During my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Durham, I worked as a part-time nanny and often travelled with the family, accompanied them on outings, and still stay with them for weekends when they visit London! I au paired for 6 weeks in Catalonia for two girls aged 10 and 12 in the summer of 2022, as well as covered for an au pair in Westminster, looking after three children aged 3, 3, and 5. Alongside babysitting and nannying, I worked at an after-school club for my last two years of school in which I helped to cook, play, entertain, and manage up to 40 primary school children. I have also spent over 6 years volunteering in various youth work roles, leading youth groups and classes of children aged 3-16, and completed work experience in a pre-school kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school. I have also just qualified as a secondary school teacher of RE at Oxford University - however I've realised that I prefer working with children on a more personal level and so I am looking for my first full-time nanny role!
My Qualifications
Trained in First Aid, PGCE (Oxford) , undergraduate and master's degree (Durham), 3 A-B A-Levels, 10 A*-B GCSEs, award for my volunteering in youth groups.
