My Summary

My Experience

My first full-time job was for Next PLC, and here I was made a coordinator at 18. This gave me valuable leadership experience and enabled me to have the time and confidence to decide to pursue a career in Early Childhood. I started University in 2017 and continued working for Next during holidays periods. During my second year of university, I decided to spend a summer in America as a Camp Counsellor and ended up at a boys camp in Rural Vermont. Here, my role was to be a general counsellor for a tent family consisting of 3 boys aged 8-10. My role also included leading Hiking trips for 10 campers, alongside two other staff members.

In my final year of university, I completed a placement module at Treetops Pre-school. When my necessary hours were completed, I was given the opportunity of permanent employment and accommodation in Deal with the setting manager so I could continue working. In addition to this, I was offered a training course which I completed in February 2021, making me a Licenced Thrive Practitioner. Through working at Treetops, I have learnt how to work with children with SEN, including ASD, Cerebyl Palsy and Epilepsy, as well as supported children with adverse childhood experiences. I have worked closely alongside Speech and Language Therapists, Specialist Teachers, and SENIF Practitioners, as well as Social Workers and Early Help Workers. In addition to this, I have lived with a family of 5 and understand how to adapt to fit into a family environment.

I then joined a family in South London as a full-time Nanny. Roles included basic housekeeping, preparing meals, and caring for the youngest child who is on the Autistic Spectrum. I worked closely with other agencies such as Behaviour Analysts, Speech and Language Therapists and Physios to ensure that the family and I were doing everything we could to support the child at home, and this is an aspect of my job that I particularly enjoyed.

My Qualifications

Degree in Early Childhood Studies - First Class. Gained at Canterbury Christchurch University.
Licenced Thrive Practitioner - Gained 02/21.
Safeguarding Level 1 - Gained 09/19.
Understanding Autism Level 2 - Gained 04/21.

My Availability

I am currently available any time Monday-Friday. Ideally, I would be looking for a temporary role lasting until Christmas.

• Babysitting from £16.00 per hour
