About Me

Hello parents!

My name is Kajol and I love taking care of children! I am passionate about spending time and helping children grow into great human beings. I am naturally kind, nurturing u hun and attentive and currently work part-time as a community events co-ordinator while undertaking part time studies in medical law at ULaw (masters.)

I have life long experience working with newborns, children and young people through lived experience, founding my own youth-led charity and teaching in academic environments. I am passionate and committed to providing children with the best nourishment, care and education that will set them up to live soul-enriching and fulfilling lives. I am a nurturing and empathetic person who connects well with children. Children give me joy that nothing else can!

My Experience

My first experience of childcare was helping my mother, who was a single mother, with my baby brother who was born when I was 12 years old. I became a second mother to him and as a result my maternal instincts are intrinsic to my character.

A year later, at the age of 13, I became deeply passionate about my community and wanted to provide arts services and educational activities to everyone in my area. With some friends, I set up our own youth organisation, "Blaze Arts", to work with an eclectic range of artists, musicians and athletes and cultivated art exhibitions, festivals, sports challenges and other high profile events. Through this we encouraged children throughout the north west region to improve their mental and physical wellbeing with sport and artistic programmes that successfully encouraged children and young people to gain confidence. Everyone went on to pursue amazing lives and careers. Three years later I was successfully nominated a London 2012 Olympic Torchbearer for the lasting impact our organisation had achieved in our town and the rest of the region.

I have been nannying and babysitting since living in London for the past 4 - 5 years and continue to have a trusting and close relationship with the families I have looked after. From looking after newborns, toddlers, children and early teenagers, I have the experience of taking care of a wide range of children, inside and outside the home. I have experience of working as a chef and I'm passionate about healthy eating and cooking from scratch, I am particularly good with children who have dietary requirements.

I have also worked as an outreach ambassador for my university which has involved me going to primary and secondary schools to create workshops to encourage students to be curious, creative and work hard to enjoy education. Through this I have organised my own lessons and lectures in my specialised fields (History, Anthropology and History of Art) for children as young as 8 to 18. I ran workshops (usually in languages such as Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi) within my institution to encourage ethnic minority and/or working class children to appreciate their culture and heritage and study their languages further. This position requires a very organised, passionate and energetic attitude which I had utilised within this role.

I have worked with children in a vast range of environments and offer all of this experience to you and your family. I am more than happy to help achieve academic goals alongside childcare as it is an important time of year and the coronavirus pandemic has made this time particularly difficult for learning.
