My Experience

August 2022- Now
Working in Orchard Nursery as a Nursery Practitioner and I finished college this January and I’m awarded with the SVQ3 certification.
I have gained a lot of experience working with 2 years old and prescholers (3 to 5 years old).

August 2021 – June 2022
As an Au pair, my main responsibility is to look after 8 year old boy. I am working 25 hours a week.
A detailed description of my duties follows:
1. One morning of the week take Rory to school.
2. Picking him up from school or childminder.
3. Playing with kid, reading to him, helping with writing. Drawing, painting, doing crafts.
4. Household chores: unload the washing machine, putting away clothes, shopping for groceries, tidying up after kids, unload dishwasher.
5. Cooking dinner 4 times a week. Preparing kids lunch boxes.
6. Looking after family pet, a cat.
7. When the family is away, looking after the house.
8. Babysitting when it is required.

April – August 2021
As a nanny, my main responsibility is to look after two children, aged 7 and 13. In this case, paying more attention to the youngest one. Additionally, to help their father with the household chores.
A detailed description of my duties follows:
1. Picking up younger one from school, preparing children snack or lunch.
2. While at home, looking after him and playing with him.
3. Babysittings while parent is out.

July – August 2021
As a nanny, my work was looking after 3 young girls of 7, 5 and 3 years old. I was required to work in the afternoons.
A detailed description of my duties follows:
1. Household chores including cleaning kitchen, tidying up after girls and cooking dinner.
2. Supervised girls showers. Helped changing to sleeping clothes.
3. Once in a while doing babysittings for the family.

September 2020 – April 2021
As a Care Assistant, my responsibility was to work with senior elderly adults at their own homes, many of them bedridden or presenting diminished mobility.

A detailed description of my regular duties follows:
1. Waking them up in the morning, helping them shower or performing body wash. Preparing breakfast, and carrying out household chores (laundry tasks, dish cleaning, cooking meals).
2. Supervision of their daily medication (medicaments, dose, timing).
3. Providing company and affective containment (chatting, watching TV and walking them out around the neighborhood).
4. Regular shopping and / or buying whatever was needed.
5. Throughout my experience, I have learnt and become acquainted to techniques regarding full management of catheter and stoma bags, and to those related to sanitizing ( washing and drying) people with diminished or nil mobility (i.e.; Glide Sheet technique).

September 2019 – August 2020
As an Au Pair, my main responsibility is to look after four children, aged 7, 5, 3 and 1. Additionally, to help their mother (a housewife) with the household chores.
A detailed description of my duties follows:
1. Preparing the children’s breakfast, helping them to get ready for their daily activities (school, etc.).
2. While they are at home, looking after them and organise playing & learning activities.
3. In the late afternoon, giving them a bath and serving dinner.
4. Cleaning and tidying up the children’s bedrooms and playroom.
5. Supporting their mother with the laundry tasks and cooking meals.
