My name is Sophie, I am currently completing my psychology degree at the University of Essex. I enjoy working with children, making them smile and helping them grow.
My Experience
After finishing school I worked in a nursery and after school club full time for a year, caring for children aged 3 months to 11 years old. For two years now, I have been going back to the nursery to work for 4 months in the summer holidays. In this role I have cared for babies helping them grow through play, helped teach pre schoolers the skills needed for school and entertaining the children at the after school club. Whilst working at the nursery I privately looked after a one year old for a year, this involved bringing her home from nursery, making her food and bathing her to get her ready for bed. I also, looked after her full time at her home during the holidays. Whilst completing my degree I have worked for a few families providing pick ups from school and nursery and babysitting in the night/day. Due to my role at the nursery I am paediatric first aid trained and hold a dbs check.
My Qualifications
I have completed courses in safeguarding, first aid and how to help in child development.
My Availability
I am currently finishing my degree and I am looking to help families in the local area, before I find a full time role in my degree speciality.
