About Me
Hi parents/carers let me introduce myself my name is Lisa, I am an experienced Ofsted Registered Childminder, with public liability insurance and a member of childcare.co.uk. I provide a safe, caring and stimulating home from home environment. I provide toys and resources both indoors and outdoors to support the EYFS in all 7 areas.
As with my previous career I always ensure that I am always professional in all that I do. I am very reliable, hardworking and flexible. I work with my parents to make their life easier and I find working with the children in my care very rewarding.
I live with my husband, our daughter who attends a local secondary school and 2 lovely lively spaniel dogs. Our house is a good size, a spacious and separate playroom that I use for childminding this allows the children free access to all the toys and resources. We enjoy doing messy play together and baking. We have a good sized secure enclosed rear garden which includes lots of outdoor toys ie sandpit, water play, ride ons etc.
Myself, my husband and our daughter all have enhanced CRB checked and I also hold Public Liability Insurance. I provide a range of activities to encourage the children's interests and allow free play and help them to development and reach their full potential with both adult led and child activities. I take the children out and about regularly which includes walks to the local park, Southwick Country Park, Longleat, Soft play and local Childminding and Toddler groups to encourage interacting with other children. We also have a family allotment local that I take the children to and allow them to plant and watch the vegetables grow. (The parents like it too as they get the benefits of all the vegetables to take home). I keep current with my training by attending local, online and Council run training packages. I currently have a variety of ages ranging from 7 months-12 years old.
M last inspection by Ofsted was Oct 2023 and pleased to say I was graded "Good".
My Experience
I have been childminding since Aug 2011. I have been a parent for 18 years which I believe is a great experience in itself. My previous career was serving in the Armed Forces for 15 years. I have now changed my focus and wish to make a career working with and helping children reach their goals and achievements. I have always had an interest in working with children and have helped out on the Committee of our village Pre School assisting with a Rainbows group, and also volunteering in the village primary school. I am delighted to change it from an interest into my main focus and career.
I am keen to promote learning through play and I allow the children to participate in the choice making of the activities we do. They have access to both inside and outside play. We also have an allotment which we often visit and the children/parents take home a variety of homegrown items. I am dedicated to the children in my care, I provide a safe, stimulating and happy environment for the children to grow, learn and develop. I use an online system which allows parents/carers instant access to their child/children’s day, diaries, photos and their own personal learning journals which shows their individual learning and progression whilst they are with me.
I do have experience with special needs and currently care for a child who is autistic and have done so for several years. Should you have any special requirements I would happily try and cater for them.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My fees are 5.00 per hour. There are no hidden fees, all trips and visits that I do are covered by myself. The only thing I do ask you as a parent to provide is nappies and formula/breast milk (if required)

Choosing a child-minder is quite a scary move; you can ask all the right questions but when it comes down to it, your child/children need to connect with them. It is safe to say that we struck gold when we found Megpol – we know this because our two children absolutely adore Lisa, her husband and her daughter.
My son has been with Lisa since January 2012 (10 months old) and my daughter since September 2013 (11 months old). I asked all the questions I could think, and checked all the insurance documents etc., but in the end watching Lisa interact with my son confirmed that she was the best person to entrust our children to.
When we drop them off in the morning the house is immaculate, with children of different ages happily eating breakfast – Lisa offers a pre and after-school service as well. When we collect in the evening, there are children playing, learning and socialising. It is fantastic and comforting to see your child in that situation, safe in the knowledge that they will have been happy and settled all day.
Food is home-cooked – my two are always happy to fill me in on that day’s menu. There are always walks, excursions to local toddler groups or the Country Park. My husband and I always look forward to Easter, Christmas etc. because we get to see all the arts and crafts that they have been working on! Lisa puts so much research and effort into these occasions, and the children are so proud of their work.
Lisa constantly reviews and assesses: she will always make time to chat about their progress. The personal journals are amazing – they provide an excellent insight and allow us to glimpse what our two get upto! I have absolutely no concerns that when my son goes to Primary School in September 2015 that he will already have an excellent grounding in all areas, and that the transition will be smooth and hopefully painless.
Lisa is an absolutely outstanding child-minder: she is supportive, goes above and beyond at a moment’s notice; organised, happy and welcoming. More importantly, outside of the family unit, I could not imagine anyone else caring and nurturing my children so well.
