About Me
I am a highly experienced, ofsted registered nanny and mum to two girls, available part-time from Nov 2024. I have worked in childcare for the last 24yrs and consider myself a fun, gentle and loving nanny (whilst also being able to set clear, age/individually appropriate boundaries, so that the children in my care feel truly safe and loved).
I am extremely active and love taking the babies/toddler/children under my care out and about, exploring woodlands, parks and the many museums in London! This is as well as ensuring socialisation through the various playgroups and music sessions available in North London.
I also have a passion for psychology and child development which I have studied to degree level.
My relationship with the families I work with has always been excellent and therefore I can offer excellent references.
My Experience
Starting with my most recent employment:
. I currently care for a 2yr old boy (who will be 3 at the end of July). This is a part time role, 3.5days per week and I have been with the family since the summer of 2022.
. I worked part time with a family with two boys (17 months and 3yrs). I have been with these lovely boys since November but sadly they moved back to Spain in the summer.
. My longest role was with a family with four boys and I was lucky enough to be part of their upbringing for 16 years (their ages when I started were: twins 18month, 4yrs and 6yrs). This was a full time, sole charge role for around 8yrs, at which point I started my university degree and then had my first daughter, I then moved to afternoons only (apart from full days in school holidays). As you can imagine our families are still extremely close.
. Whilst employed by the family above part-time (between finishing my studies and having my daughter) I also worked for friends of their family. This involved caring for a 3yr old girl and, when he came along, a new born baby boy whilst the boys were at school.
. My first nanny role was with two separate families (splitting the week). One had a 3yr old girl and 6months old boy. The other family had a 3yr old girl and 5yr old boy.
. I started in childcare working as a childminder alongside two other childminders in a nursery like setting. We had 10 babies/toddlers under the age of 3yrs. This was valuable experience to start my career.
My Qualifications
I consider my most valuable qualification to be my 20yrs of experience in childcare. This is enhanced by my 1st class Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with Counselling Skills (which included modules in developmental psychology, covering many aspects of child cognitive and emotional development). I have recent ipeadictric first aid training, have a clean dbs and am fully registered with ofsted.
My Availability
I have some flexibility but I am ideally looking for 3/4 full days per week between the hours of 9am and 5pm. I am likely to be available from November 2024.
