My Summary
About Me
My name is Sarah, I'm 33 and I have been working in the childcare sector since the age of 16. I attended college to gain a diploma in childcare, worked in a nursery, and have since been a nanny for the past 13 years. I am also a mother myself to my 11 year old son and my new baby daughter.
About me- I am patient, caring, responsible and reliable. I am proactive, can work well alone and as a team. I'm a great communicator, particularly with children. I'm not afraid to get messy and have fun, but can also be firm when needed. I have a good knowledge of child development and the EYFS curriculum.
My Experience
I am currently working as a nanny and have been with the same lovely family for 9 years. I care for 3 boys age 10, 7 and 2. This role started when the eldest was 11 months, and they’ve since had another 2 children whom I’ve cared for since they were 3 and 2 days old respectively. My everyday duties consist of entertaining the children in the home, taking them out and about to playgroups, parks, soft play, day trips etc, cooking healthy homemade meals, bathing, bedtime/morning routines and school runs. I've really loved watching the children grow - teaching them new skills from walking and talking to now reading and writing, homework challenges, and everything in between.
My previous nanny role saw me caring for a little girl of 1 year. My charge was the same age as my son so I took him to work with me and they became great friends.
For 2 years prior to this, I nannied full time for a busy family looking after 2 girls- aged 6 and 9. This role included proxy parenting and overnight cover as the mother worked abroad a lot, so I would have sole charge of the children and running of the house during the weekdays.
Before nannying, I worked at Inglewood day nursery with children aged from 2 and a half to 3 years.
I have built up a considerable amount of experience spanning over 17 years, caring for children from newborn to 14 years old. Becoming a mother has also taught me plenty of new things!
My Qualifications
I am a qualified level 3 practitioner holding a diploma in childcare and education. I hold a CRB check, up to date paediatric first aid and nanny insurance. I have also been on training courses so I have a certificate in Child Protection, Speech and Language, and a few other online based course certificates.
I am Ofsted registered. This means I can accept childcare vouchers from tax-free childcare schemes.
I have a full clean driving license held since April 2008, and own my own car with fully comprehensive and business cover insurance.
My Availability
I am currently available for babysitting and ad-hoc nanny work whilst on maternity leave with my daughter. For now, I can be quite flexible so please message me to see if I can help.
From September 2024 onwards, I may be looking for additional days/hours. I will be returning to my lovely long-term family on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but I have availability for the other 3 days of the week. Ideally, this would be a position where I can bring my daughter along. She was born in September 2023.
