About Me
I am an experienced Children’s tutor at EYFS and key stage 1 level, I am also a special educational needs consultant and was previously Head of Early Years at an independent school. I am available for sessions to promote self esteem, resilience and confidence whilst learning to read, write and improve communication and language.
I work with both children with special educational needs, learning or behavioural difficulties, working at EYFS level up to the age of 15 years to help close the gap in attainment. l also work at the other end of the spectrum tutoring children that require more stretch to ensure they are challenged and do not become bored and disengaged due to sitting at the same level for too long. I homeschool some
children that have been disengaged from Education and not currently attending school.
My approach is to use practical, fun strategies to ensure your child blossoms and enjoys Learning with Lorna!
I can also go into your child’s Nursery / School to provide ideas for the staff that will enhance your child’s learning alongside the foundation stage/ KS1 curriculum, and bring out the best in your child.

My Experience
I have worked as an Early Years teacher, School SENCO, Nursery manager and Head of Early Years at an independent Prep school.
I have over 30 years experience working with children who are neuro diverse and have additional and different needs.
I have specific experience working with children who have ASD, ADHD and children 5 years and under who require additional support with their speech and language.
I also work with children with English as an additional language tutoring them to pass their Phonics assessment at the end of the year one summer term

I could not recommend Lorna enough. She worked with my son for 2 years and helped him leaps and bounds with his development! She was so much more than just a tutor but helped him with speech and language, occupational and social skills too. Words can’t express how grateful we are for her- she set such great foundations for our son and he is now a gifted and thriving boy! If we hadn’t moved abroad, we would never have let her go. Our family adore Lorna!
