My Experience

Supporting individual children, small groups and teaching staff. Working as a teachers assistant in the nursery class, responsibilities include supporting teacher’s duties, enabling children to access & participate in all activities, caring for children’s physical and medical needs, including gastro nasal feeding. Worked as an Integration assistant supporting a child with SEN to integrate in to a mainstream setting
During my time in the school I gained many skills and experiences these are;
• Teaching and supervising small groups.
• Planning and developing assessments procedures and implementing them in the school.
• I run small training groups for staff making them aware of the software’s, website and equipments available for teaching the pupils.
• Developing the school website.
• Ordering suitable and appropriate ICT equipments to help pupil’s with their learning.
• Creating email account and user accounts for both pupils and staff.
• Developing, cleaning and maintaining ICT equipments safely.
• Ordering school uniform for pupils and staff.
• I work with the class teacher to develop and monitor pupil progress and achievements.
• I assisted pupils with feeding and toileting and supervised pupils at lunchtime.
• Work on integration projects to provide pupils and staff with a positive experience.
• I have been involved in working with the speech and language therapist, physiotherapists and music therapist.
• I have been on several home visits liaising with parents in order to ensure that continuous care and support is provided.
• I have taken a full active part in the life of the school including training days, staff meetings and discussions. I have been trained to manage pupils with epilepsy, allergies Administer enteral feeds via a gastrostomy tube feeding.
• I have been involved in many training courses e.g ABA , Makaton, CRISEES training, Team Teaach, Child protection, physical intervention, behavior management, child protection, allergy awareness, rectal diazepam, picture exchange communication, visual impairment training and various ICT training.
