About Me
I am a qualified midwife and I now work as a birth and postnatal doula. I love supporting women and their families but I found the NHS service compromised the care and support i could provide to women at this very special time in their lives. I am passionate about ensuring that women and their families are empowered by being given up to date evidence based information and are supported to make informed choices regarding the care that they recieve. Personally, I have 3 teenagers now, a boy and 2 girls, i live in Suffolk but I can travel up to approx 90 mins away. I have a curent full DBS and clean driving licence. I hold a level 2 certificate in food hygiene too. I am honest, flexible and reliable. I am available most days or evenings.
My Experience
I qualified as a midwife in 2012 and have worked within the NHS for 7 years, i have supported many women both in hospitals and in their own home environments during the birth process. I am passionate about home birth and i am keen for women to be supported to have the kind of birth they want. I have also worked in the community, caseloading women and their families. I have provided one to one support regardless of the parents choice for feeding their baby. I am pro choice regarding your feeding options. That said I am trained to level 3 in UNICEF breastfeeding support and willing to support you however i can in order to help you adapt to those first few weeks of having a newborn. I have had my own children, i did a mix for feeding them, one was breastfed the other 2 were mix fed. The last 2 were both dairy intolerent so I have experience with this too.
My Qualifications
BSc Midwifery, level 3 Health and social care, level 2 food hygiene and safety.
My Availability
I am flexible for evenings, weekends and weekdays and nights.
