About Me
Hello everyone, welcome to Mandarin Orange Bilingual Childcare. I’m Lina, fluent in Mandarin, English, and some Korean. I hold a degree in Early Years Education and Care and am an outgoing and enthusiastic person. I am OFSTED registered and provide a “home from home” experience for children. My home is a 5-minute walk from Manor Park Academy, with a spacious yard for children to play and a specially designed indoor environment that supports child development. Within walking distance, we have two large parks, a library, and soft play areas. As a childminder, I believe we have greater flexibility to help children explore and understand the world around them.
I live with my husband Michael and our two lovely boys, one aged 4 who is in reception, and the other 20 months old. We are warm, kind, and passionate about creating a welcoming environment.
I am truly passionate about this profession and absolutely love providing children with a wide range of experiences and activities. Through my care, ongoing observations, and termly reports, I work closely with parents to design the next steps in each child’s development based on their interests and needs. Every week, we plan activities aligned with the seven areas of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). We also incorporate various festivals, holidays, seasonal changes, and monthly themes into our daily activities, creating a rich and diverse learning environment for the children.
My Experience
I have over 10 years of experience working with children in Australia, China, and the UK. Throughout my career, I have engaged in various areas of early childhood education, including teaching Mandarin and English, as well as leading storytelling sessions. I have worked with children across different age groups in nursery settings. Before becoming a childminder, I served as a senior educator in a nursery in the UK. As a qualified AMI Montessori assistant, I incorporate some of their approaches into my activities. I offer bilingual education based on the seven areas of the EYFS and enjoy guiding children in exploring different aspects of learning. We often participate in sensory play, messy play, baking, and nature-based activities, such as playing in the mud kitchen or creating crafts with sticks and leaves. I also provide baby yoga and Mandarin storytelling in a fun and engaging way, utilizing a variety of resources that align with the EYFS framework.

Na is a very experienced teacher who designs engaging and creative outdoor activities and crafts. Her approach covers children’s language development, gross motor skills, and fine motor skills. More importantly, she always provides me with detailed feedback and plenty of photos after each session, which makes me feel very reassured.
