About Me

Hi! My name is Megan or Meg; I'm a 22 year old post-grad who has been living in Bath for the past 4 years. I recently gained my teaching qualification through a PGCE with Bath Spa. Before I work with my own class, I am looking to have a year out and I am planning to Nanny full time for a family of young children. I specialised in Early Years in my PGCE, so am confident about the needs of children as they prepare to start, and progress through their early school years. I have lots of experience with a wide range of age groups, from running classes and activities at summer camps, to working at nurseries, and of course schools. I have a few years of experience with babysitting. I am passionate about outdoor education including forest school, and will be looking to gain my Forest school qualification in the near future. So it goes without saying that I love everything outdoors, and would be looking to share that love with children. I am active and creative, I love going on walks, making art out of anything and everything, playing games, cooking/baking and music! I would love to incorporate your children's preferences and interests into play and give them opportunities for choice where I can, as I know this builds self-motivation. I am more than happy to help out around the house with chores/cooking etc, and of course I can support your children with any homework or gaps in school learning where they might need extra support. The school run is no problem and I do drive if it's not a walkable distance.
As I am looking for full time work I would need a minimum of 25 hours a week (no weekends) however this can be flexible on occasion. In the school holidays we can arrange a schedule which suits your needs.
I am a kind and caring individual, which is why I got into working with children in the first place. I place the needs of the children in my care first and treat Safeguarding and Data Protection with the utmost importance. I understand my role and duty to protect children as a caregiver and responsible adult in their life. Making sure children feel respected, heard, safe and loved is key to my philosophy and mission as someone working in childcare. I hold an enhanced DBS check that is registered with the update service and available to be checked.
