About Me
I’m a mature, friendly, easy-going empty nest mother of 1 with a wealth of experience with children. From lecturing/teaching SEN students at college to nannying/childminding and tutoring, I’ve also worked with primary and secondary children as a TA/LSA. I’m open, honest and outgoing and proactive. I’m very interested in early years development, love to get outdoors (as they say, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing), crafts, cookery and inventive play. At college when teaching I was known as the “resources queen” as I loved coming up with new resources for the students to use and learn with!
My Experience
I have worked for many years in education, (SEN teaching), first as a TA in primary schools and lastly as a college lecturer with students with special educational needs, prior to semi-retirement. I have previously been a registered childminder, when my daughter was young, done before and after school care and worked as a nanny. I have been working in a nursery/pre-school as an early years educator (training as a room leader). My last position was looking after a 4 month old baby on a temporary basis.
My current position is working with a family with 3 children, 2 of whom are at school, but as such am looking after the youngest who has cerebral palsy and is now 2 years old. Taking her to physio and other appointments, the library, playgroups etc. looking after all her needs and making sure she is stimulated and has plenty of suitable activities.
