My Summary
About Me
I am a bright and creative young woman who is a Musical Theatre graduate from the University of West London. My previous experience includes working in a primary school, which allowed me to explore working with a range of children, both boys and girls of all different ages. I also took many opportunities to work in primary schools during my time in school and college. My previous employment includes working as a pre-school teacher at Gymboree. This job allowed me to devise fun and creative ways to encourage educational development in young children. This role has made me appreciate how much I am suited to work within this particular environment in which I am able to devote my time to inspire and help children achieve appropriate, educational milestones. My former teacher told described me as 'diligent, hard-working, proactive, talented and a team player.' I enjoy music and creating different engaging activities that aid in the development of children which are encouraged through my energetic personality and caring nature.
My Experience
Current Employment
Currently, I am a full-time Nanny in West London, caring for two children. My duties include; preparing healthy meals for both children after school, planning fun trips out for the children, helping out with homework, and just helping out around the house to make the parents' life a little easier! Forming a tight relationship with a family has been so lovely and I hope to do the same within my next childcare opportunity.
Babysitter - within the family
On multiple occasions, I have babysat my two little cousins when they were younger. I did this every so often when my Auntie and Uncle would make plans. This would often consist of making lunch or dinner for them and keeping them entertained throughout the evening by playing games and doing activities such as drawing and singing songs with them both. This would often be for the whole afternoon until the late evening. I often had to have them overnight which consisted of helping with their nighttime routine of getting into pyjamas and getting into bed.
Teaching assistant
As part of my high school work experience, I did 5 days of working in the classroom with the key stage 1&2 children from 8:30 am until 3:15 pm. I helped the children with both Maths and English, as-well-as a handful of other subjects that were being taught during the day. During the children’s playtime I had to ensure that all of the children were sensible and safe, and I also would comfort the children and escort them to the nurse if they had an injury or felt sick during their break. I was also able to work on the year 3 play that was being rehearsed during the week which gave me the opportunity to help develop their creative and artistic skills.
Volunteer work with children
As part of my Duke of Edinburgh award, I volunteered to work in an After-school Club at my local primary school. This consisted of me creating fun activities for all of the children to part-take in until their parents arrived to collect them. I would do actives such as arts and crafts, creating dance routines and reading stories to them. This would usually be from around 3:30 pm-6 pm.
Pre-school work
I was previously a teacher for children of 0 to 5 years at a pre school located in Hampstead. This opportunity allows me to part take in the key development stages allowing them to achieve key milestones in their early years.
My Qualifications
I have an upper second class honours degree in BA Hons Musical Theatre. I also have a double distinction* in BTEC Musical Theatre and a C in Psychology. During high school I earned 8 GCSE’s with grades A-C.
