Hello! My name is Abbie and I am a 23 year old who has just completed my degree in educational psychology at the university of Birmingham. I have lots of experience working with children in various settings and with different ages. I also studied health and social care during my time at college, alongside psychology and sociology. I have always had a passion to work with children and I plan to do a further teaching postgraduate or educational psychology masters in the future. I love to spend time with my family and friends whenever I get the chance!
My Experience
I have been a nanny for 5 families over 4 years, two families with a one year old, one with two children under 4 and two families with primary school aged children (5-11). I also have experience working in a nursery in 2021, where I mainly worked in a babies room for children 1-2. I have also been an au pair four times, where my responsibilities were to look after the children whilst the parents were working. I built a great relationship with all the families I au paired for and we will keep in contact and will go back to visit them whenever I am able! Recently, I have completed a placement within a year 6 class of a local primary school, whereby I helped the teacher with lessons and supported children with their work. I also volunteered with a charity who offered out of school provision for children with SEN. More casually I regularly look after my cousins children who are aged 3 and 5.
My Qualifications
I have a degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Birmingham.
I achieved 11 GCSEs including a B in English and Maths.
I achieved A-levels in psychology (C) and sociology (B).
I achieved a diploma in Health and Social Care (Distinction*).
