My Summary
About Me
Fun, caring and nature loving early years practitioner with many years experience working within early years settings and more recently nannying experience. I can offer flexible hours over the week, use my experience to plan activities, focus on your children’s individual needs and interests and build good relationships. I enjoy baking, craft, music and being outdoors as well as stories and dens. I can offer some help within the home. Any messy play will be cleaned! I’m looking for a household where I can help keep a routine but also allows the flexibility to decide to pack up a picnic and head out on a ‘bear hunt’ (for example). I also have experience with various pets. We (I have an 18 and 21 year old) currently have a dog but have had chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters and a pony share and would be happy to help with animals as well.
My Experience
I have been working in the Early Years for sixteen years. I am currently working as a part time nanny and part time early years practitioner at a day nursery. A lot of my career has been spent within a village school as an EYP. This role also included working with all primary age ranges as part of the extended school team (nursery 2-4, extended school 4-11). Planning activities, caring, building relationships with children and parents, preparing healthy food, knowledge of child development, risk assessment, first aid and a fair amount of toilet training are all part of the role. I have worked at an outdoor nursery and forest school where I developed a nurture room for the children who needed extra emotional support. I have also nannied for a family with an 8 and 12 year old. As a mother of two myself I have experience of running a household with two young children. My first aid training covers newborn to adult and my degree focused on birth to 8.
I am Ofsted registered.
My Qualifications
BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies
Paediatric first aid
Safeguarding children and young people
I have also completed many courses for my current role for example, outdoor play, In The Moment Planning and Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, Step-on training and Equal Opportunities.
I have 11 GCSEs A-B, 3 A levels, a diploma in Art and Design and my degree.
