Hello! My name is Louise, people I know call me Lou. I am 23, currently live and have grown up in London! I have a small, close knit family who I cherish very much. We are a family of teachers/support staff, so the passion is very much shared! I love to try new foods, expand knowledge and explore new places/cultures. I have worked in childcare for the past 4 years, 2 of which I have developed a passionate career as a special educational needs 1:1.
My Experience
My current position is as a Special Educational Needs 1:1. I have been in this position for two years and have completely a CACHE qualification in Understanding Autism. In this role I support transitions, set and review SMART targets, deliver interventions to support said targets, using a range of visuals (PECS, visual timetable, now and next board). I have experience with both verbal and non-verbal children. I also have experience working with children with a combination of conditions, ADHD, PICA, anxiety. I have also been part of a team who helped develop a sensory room in a mainstream school.
I have precious experience as a live out nanny, during this role I cared for two children aged one and four. I worked within an established routine, nursery drop off/pick up, development activities for both children as well as any other household duties required.
I also have previous experience working in a nursery setting, working with children ages six months - 5 years. Some responsibilities were setting up appropriate provision to age/needs, lead phonics and maths sessions, safeguarding.
