My Experience

I graduated from West Suffolk College with a Triple Distinction* in the BTECH National Extended Diploma in Children's Play, Learning and Development in 2021. Once graduated, I spent a few months working in a nursery in Bury St Edmunds, developing my skills in practice, and growing in my confidence - both with children and parents. In October 2022, I began working as the supervisor of the 'Four Bears Den' (an OFTED-registered creche) at The Ickworth Hotel (a 4* family oriented hotel in Bury St Edmunds). This role included being in charge of a team of up to 10 adults, being responsible for the upkeep and development of the department and ensuring that the children in our care were safe, happy and stimulated at all times. I spent a lot of time taking children into my care who I had never met before, meaning that I quickly became confident with developing relationships with both children and parents quickly and effectively. During my time in this role, which ended in May 2023 through the choice of my own, I also took on the title of 'First Aid Coordinator' which made me responsible for the maintenance of the First Aid kits across the hotel. It was also common for me to spend time in other departments - keen to help out where possible, I spent time with the housekeeping team making beds, cleaning rooms and creating a high standard of presentation for arriving guests. Prior to this, my other childcare experience is as follows;

- Babysitting multiple different children between 2018-2021, including children with various SEN needs (autism, ADHD and Downs Syndrome).
- Leading a team of up to 5 adults working for a 2-4 year-olds group on Sunday mornings, between 2017-2019. This meant I was responsible for the creation of the rota and often the development of activities for the duration of the session. We looked after children for an hour and a half during the morning service, allowing parents to be downstairs and enjoying their morning.
- Volunteering with the running of a youth group, aimed for young people 10-18 years-old, on a Wednesday evening. I volunteered with this team between 2021-May 2023. We ran weekly activities for the young people, including outings into town, local parks and further afield (trampoline parks, camp outs and city trips). My role included leading small groups in games, discussions and activities, and looking out for individuals who required that extra little care.

I passed my driving test first time in June 2021 and hold a clean, full drivers license. I also own and drive a 2007 Peugeot which is fully working, insured and has space for up to 2 car seats if necessary. I am DBS checked and Pediatric First Aid trained (this includes adult first aid and in detail children's first aid as well).

My Fees

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour

I charge from £15 an hour.
However, this is flexible and I am more than happy to discuss with parents individually to suits needs and personal finances - everyone deserves affordable childcare.
