About Me
Hi, my name is Becka. I live with my husband and our little boy who is 7 years old, in the beautiful village of Long Wittenham. For many years I have wanted to be a childminder, to help nurture and care for babies and children. Growing up, my Mum was and still is a childminder, and has played a large part in my decision to pursue my dream. I enjoy the company of children, to watch and help them to grow and thrive, and sharing in their experiences and achievements. It is an honour and a privilege to share this with parents, and I look forward to our relationship growing as I care for your child.
I enjoy gardening, cooking, reading and going for walks. There are many beautiful walks around where I live, through woods, meadows and to the river. I hope to share my interests in these with your child throughout their time with me.
I will do my utmost to ensure that your child’s time with me will be a positive, stimulating, interesting, fun and consistently stable experience. It is my aim to have an environment which will help your child to learn and develop through our positive relationship together, which I hope will enable them to become a strong, independent and confident child. I will always ensure that your child feels safe and welcome in my home.
My Experience
I have previously worked at a nursery school, caring for children aged from 6 months to 5 years. I would plan daily activities and complete observations on the children, which were in-line with the different stages of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I have worked as a maternity support worker, a role that I was in for 9 years. I worked closely alongside midwives, and my main roles are to support new mums and their babies, perform observations on potentially unwell babies, support with breastfeeding, assist in emergencies and I was often called as a second pair of hands to births.
