My Summary
About Me
I am a 7-year-experienced NICU nurse with a BA of Health Science in Nursing.
My Experience
Since 2013, I had worked in Zeynep Kamil Women and Child Disease Research Hospital in
Istanbul in the neonatal intensive care department. In the first year, i worked as a registered
NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) nurse. I administered medications and fluids and
checked vital signs on criticaly ill newborns. I also provided high level of quality care for
each and every patient in 63-bed neonatal ICU unit, which involved direct patient care,
stabilizing patients and determining the course of action. I vaccinated patients to protect individuals from measles, pneumonia, influenza and other illnesses of concern. I also performed ongoing
assessments to evaluate mental health needs, working with multidisciplinary team to develop,
initiate, manage and modify individualized plans of care. From 2014 I am a registered Level 3 qualified NICU nurse continuing to work in the same department in the same hospital.
I managed patients recovering from medical or surgical procedures, including facilitating
wound care, ostomy care, pressure ulcer prevention and pain management.
I educated patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options,
disease process and management and lifestyle options.
I also provided exceptional care to high-acute patients, needing complex care such as
ventilator management, extensive wound care and rehabilitation.
Additionally, I reviewed post-operative orders and continuously monitors the patients' post-operative vitals, performing patients’ care to achieve optimal outcomes.
I also collected blood, tissue and other laboratory specimens and prepares these for lab
testing and implements interventions, including medication and IV administration, catheter
insertion and airway management.
I had been the group leader of the nurses’ night shift group for the last 2 years.
In 2018 there was a study in which I participated in, which won the research award at the National
