I am a calm, patient and loving individual who's happy to take the time to understand and emotionally support children. As an art student, I am happy to get creative and produce arts and crafts with children. I can also cook well and I can multitask with cleaning and making sure they are all fed and happy. I can also help with homework as I have tutored maths and helped my younger siblings with homework. I am also bilingual so I can communicate in Arabic if necessary. I also love reading and have read from a young age, I can read to them or even encourage to them read to boost confidence!
My Experience
I have experience childminding two girls outside my family aged 4 and 7 years old. I looked after them whilst their parents were away during the evenings. I babysat them for up to 7 hours once a week.
My responsibilities include making them dinner, keeping them occupied by drawing, painting and playing games. I would then help them get ready for bed by helping them brush their teeth and get changed. I would make sure they were tucked into bed by their bedtime. I really enjoy working with kids, taking part in arts and crafts with them and just being there for them whenever they need me.
I also babysat my neighbour's children occasionally in the evenings when they needed me to. They have 5 children ages 4-9. I was responsible for making them food, helping them with their homework and getting them ready for bed.
I also have experience volunteering as a teaching assistant with year 1 children, ages 5-6, in a primary school. I helped them in guided reading 1-1 session and supported them in their lessons. There was a teacher present in the lessons but I read with them alone. What I like the most is being able to see them gain confidence and grow an identity. It's rewarding to earn children's trust simply by making them feel safe and happy.
I have also tutored two children ages 15-16 maths GCSE maths. I taught them topics they were struggling with and gave them support in their school work. I would tutor them for one hour a week. I tutored them for about 6 weeks.
