About Me
Hello, my name is Ashley and I am a qualified teacher. I have been teaching for over 7 years. Throughout my experiences, I have demonstrated high expectations and maintained a classroom where children feel respected and valued. This has been an imperative element of my practice, leading me to foster a positive relationship with all children. As a result of this, I have successfully managed children with varying needs, including Downs Syndrome as well as those with complex learning difficulty and English as an additional language. Furthermore, my experiences cemented my love of teaching itself.
I understand the importance of giving children that extra help and support where needed to help them flourish and reach their full potential. I have a creative side to my nature and personality which I use to inject ideas and fun to create stimulating and lively sessions.
My Experience
My passion for working with children began when I sourced work experience at Brentford Football Club, volunteering as a Sports Coach mentoring children aged between 5-14 years old. As a result of this experience, I had the opportunity to coach at several different schools across London, in a variety of sports as well as teaching individual PE lessons.
I previously worked as a Teaching and Learning Assistant, which provided me with the understanding of a classroom setting, where I worked alongside the teachers to support the individual learning needs of pupils. From this, I had an insight of the skills and commitment needed to be an effective practitioner, which led me to pursue a career in teaching.
My Qualifications
I graduated from the University of Brighton with a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science Degree. From this, I had an insight of the skills and commitment needed to be an effective practitioner, which led me to pursue a career in teaching. I chose and completed a School Centred Initial Teacher Training programme, underpinned by a PGCE, which enabled me to gain a wealth of experience with a hands-on approach
