About Me
I am a mum of 3 children, aged 19, 17 and 14. Both our 19 & 17 year old are Ofsted DBS checked. Our daughter also does babysitting locally and tutors several primary aged children.
My husband is a former Ofsted childminder, he’s also fully DBS checked.
Our family home is in Wheathampstead, where I also grew up. We all love the area , and I enjoy all the educational opportunities on our doorstep with my mindees.
Most the children I look after, I’ve had from very young and had siblings then join us.
I do school drop offs and pick ups from St.Helen’s School in Wheathampstead.
I also do collections from Beech Hyde Nursery at 11.30 and able to collect from wheathampstead playgroup at 11.30.
My Experience
I completed the 2 year college NNEB training in 1994. Since qualifying I have remained in the childcare sector.
I started my career nannying in a family home for a few months, then went into a private day nursery, where I ran the pre-school room for over a year.
I went on to a state school, Aboyne Lodge primary in St.Albans. I had a nursery nurse position there, as maternity cover, working in both the nursery and the reception class. When my contract ran out I moved to Prae Wood Primary, firstly as a full time nursery nurse in the nursery, team teaching with the nursery teacher. Then later, when the afternoon nursery closed I did mornings in the nursery and then team teaching with an NQT in reception. I continued working at Prae wood nursery .5 and took a .5 outreach NNEB position at the Park Education Support Centre. My role at the Park was to work with children with behavioural issues and or at risk of exculsion. These children ranged from nursery to Year 2 and I worked with them in an outreach capacity in their educational settings. This was an extremely rewarding and sometimes,challenging job, I left The Park in 2003.
I trained as an Ofsted registered childminder and did this in the afternoons whilst continuing at wood in the mornings through my first pregnancy.
I worked at Prae Wood school for 10 years, and left after my second child’s maternity leave ended and decided to train as an Ofsted registered childminder firstly in 2003, part time then after a break, full time from 2008.
I’ve been childminding from our family home since then.
I continue to update my training and still have a passion in particular for the early years.
My husband is my assistant for after school pick ups.

I am open from 8am until 6pm Monday to Thursday.
I work on both a term time only or all year round basis.
