About Me
I am reliable and compassionate, with good time-keeping skills and an ethos of child-led play and exploration for learning and development. I am particularly interested in the health and developmental benefits of children spending time outdoors/in nature and using play to enable children to process and learn from their emotions. As such, I bring an enthusiasm and attentiveness to all my services, providing the space for children to feel safe to express themselves authentically.
My Experience
I have played a huge role in the lives of my cousins (13 and 16 y/o), from playing together to teaching them to cook to tutoring them for exams and being there for them during more emotionally turbulent times as they've grown. I am a qualified Assistant Sailing Instructor and spent three years teaching children and young people to sail confidently and safely before moving up to Edinburgh. I also spent three weeks working at an orphanage in the nursery, looking after over twenty children under 5 y/o.
My Qualifications
I am currently studying a remote masters in the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health at KCL and a CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health.
I am a qualified 200HR Yoga Teacher. I have completed a Breathwork for Kids course with The Reconnected, which focuses on using play therapy to allow kids to explore their emotions and learn to regulate their nervous systems through play and exploration.
I achieved 8 A*s and 3 As at GCSE level and A*AAA at A-Level. I was accepted onto the Teach First programme but could not complete it due to a family commitment at the time.
I am a qualified Assistant Sailing Instructor and have spent considerable hours teaching children and young people how to sail confidently and safely.
My Availability
I am currently studying a part-time masters so my availability is very flexible as I have no set required study times. I am happy to work together with you to meet your needs and find what works for us.
