About Me
My name is Lauren. I have been doing babysitting since I was 14 years old for family friends and it was looking after children that made me decide it’s what I want to do as a job. I am caring, trustworthy, reliable and have a passion for working with children and their families. I study Childcare and Education at University and have done a variety of placements with different age
groups in primary school and nursery’s to gain experience . I have joined this app as I want to widen my experience and help parents by caring for their children if they have commitments or want an evening out. I also have a clear DBS on the update service.
My Experience
Over the past two years I have worked in both a Primary School with children in reception and a nursery with children ages between 1-4. This has allowed me to get experience with a wide range of children in relation to ages and abilities. I have prepared food, planned activities for each unique child, taken them on trips for real life experiences and gained a strong understanding of the early years goals.
In lockdown I helped care for a newborn and 2 year old while the parents were at work. I went every day 9-5 and did activities with the children, took them on walks and cared for all their needs such as feeding, naps and education.
When I was really young I would baby sit a 1 year old a couple Saturday evenings a month and my role was to : give them tea, play with them and put them to bed.
I currently attend University and attend a variety of placements where I plan activities and deliver them to the children so I will be able to adapt these to suit your child/children aswell to keep them learning, active and entertained or support them with any school work they have.
My Qualifications
I attended The Castle School and took: Maths, Science, English Literature and Language, Spanish, P.E and Food. I passed all my GCSE’s with a grade 4 and above. Once I finished school I started studying my passion and learning about children’s development and needs.
Afterwards I won’t to Richard Huish College where I completed my Childcare and Education course and achieved an A* as my final grade. I currently have my Level 3 Childcare Qualification and I am now in my first year of university working towards a BA Hons in Early Childhood Education and Care.
I am now currently at the University Centre Somerset completing a University Degree in Child Education and Care. In my second year I have just achieved a first class honours and I feel my knowledge and experience is advanced and up to date to benefit your child.
My Availability
I will be available in the school 6 weeks holidays Monday to Friday. However, in September I will go back to University so will only be available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
